The Middle Days
March 2020 - July 2021
Covid hit us hard, and we were on a filming hiatus for much of this time. However, this gave us the opportunity to hit the ground running with the creation of a pitch deck to help raise support for our film. Detroit PBS sent us a letter of support, and we also received interest from the History Channel as well. Thus, we produced a sizzle reel (like a trailer), along with a detailed budget, treatment, and other items to help us in our efforts. We filmed one interview during this stretch until Covid became less of a concern to the public.

A day of infamy for many reasons, although we had no idea about the happenings in Washington DC until later that evening, as we had an opportunity to interview a veteran in the midst of Covid. John struggled a bit during his conversation, until his granddaughter stepped in to help guide his conversation. After this happened, he shared a plethora of details from his time before, during, and after the war. We thank you very much for your service, John.

Groundbreaking began today for the Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial in Royal Oak, Michigan. which is the state’s official tribute to Michigan’s heroes whose self-sacrifice, courage, and patriotism helped win World War II. At the event were hundreds of people, but most importantly a large array of WWII veterans, including Alexander Jefferson who was a Tuskegee Airman. Our crew captured some of the sights and sounds on this blustery cold day. We plan to stay in touch with this group and work together on preserving the legacy of our heroes.
